Since July 2017, Lu has served as a full-time lawyer and partner at SG & CO PRC LAWYERS (Tianjin), mainly serving as the legal consultant for large-scale state-owned enterprises and represented civil cases; From September 2011 to June 2017, Lu served as a full-time lawyer and director of Tianjin Yuanping Law Firm; From September 2004 to August 2009, Lu served as a lecturer and head of the Department of Law at Tianjin Foreign Studies University; a teacher at the College of Law and Political Science of Foreign Affairs of Tianjin Foreign Studies University; and served as the head of the Department of Law at Tianjin Foreign Studies University from September 2008; Lu taught International Law, International Trade Law, International Financial Law, selected reading from Classical Common Law Jurisprudence, foreign court trial simulations and foreign affairs legal practice; From June 2004 to October 2009, Lu also served as a part-time lawyer in Tianjin Kunde Law Firm, mainly serving as a legal consultant to provide clients with professional guidance and legal advice on international trade, corporate legal affairs, labor law and investment; From August 1998 to May 2001, Lu founded Tianjin Kunde Law Firm as a partner in 1998, and from 1999, Lu served as the director of Tianjin Kunde Law Firm until May 2001, when he went to Australia for further study. His main business areas were litigation and arbitration agency, drafting and reviewing of various legal documents, and participating in various commercial or legal negotiations. Lu published legal essays and law popularization articles in newspapers and magazines such as Tianjin Daily, Evening News and Family News; From April 1996 to June 1998, Lu served as a full-time lawyer in He Yue Law Firm, mainly engaged in various non-litigation legal practices related to corporate and international investment; From June 1995 to April 1996, Lu served as an apprentice lawyer, and he passed the legal qualification examination in October 1995, obtained the lawyer practice certificate in 1996, and completed a one-year lawyer internship in Tianjin Zhang Ying Law Firm; From August 1993 to June 1995, Lu served as an import and export supervisor. After graduating from university, Lu worked in the Import and Export Department of Tianjin Sanfeng Automobile Co., Ltd., and was responsible for business development, negotiation, contract drafting and customs declaration for automobile exports.

In 2018, Lu was included in China's talent pool of top 1,000 foreign affairs lawyers by the Ministry of Justice. Lu is adept at analyzing the legal feasibility of large-scale business projects, designing and implementing preventative legal measures, foreign-related negotiation and litigation, reviewing and drafting Chinese and English legal documents, professional legal translation, corporate legal training, etc. Lu’s work covers a wide range of fields such as corporate law, contract law, property law, intellectual property law, and international business law. Lu has performed exceptionally when handling litigation cases such as: VICTORY Group’s PAMA mergers & acquisitions project; the preparation of the implementation plan of the mixed ownership reform of a large-scale state-owned enterprise in Tianjin; the foreign ship mortgage risk assessment project of Beifang Group; the cooperative project between Jinyao Group and a Taiwanese company for developing high-tech pharmaceutical equipment; the Italy CTEE. G. S. Srl Co., Ltd. international brand cosmetics licensing cooperation project; the INNOVATA joint venture contract dispute case; the Getty Images network image copyright dispute case; and the trademark infringement case of SYSMEX (Japan). Lu once taught bilingual courses such as International Law, International Trade Law, International Financial Law, selected reading from Classical Common Law Jurisprudence, foreign court trial simulations and foreign affairs legal practice, and was popular among students for a wide range of knowledge, a witty manner, and the ability to cite various authoritative sources.
