From 1997 to 2001, Xu studied at Osaka City University in Japan, achieving with full credits in a doctoral course in Commercial Law.  

2000: intern at Japan CAST LAW Firm; 

2001-2009: lawyer at Shanghai Shimin Law Office; 

2009-2017: founding partner of Shanghai Qinrui Law Firm; 

September 2017 - present: partner of SG & CO PRC LAWYERS. 

Since returning to China in 2001, Xu has been working in Shanghai as a legal consultant for over a hundred Global 500 enterprises by providing consultation and solutions on industry investment legal policies and government affairs, involving industries such as papermaking, microfinance, advertising, food processing, finance lease, warehousing & transportation, real estate, telecom value-added services, automobiles, electromechanical, home appliances, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and foreign-related inheritance and divorce. Xu has also provided comprehensive high-quality legal services on entrepreneurship investment, labor disputes, inheritance & divorce, real estate disputes, and creditor's rights recovery litigation for domestic and overseas individuals, winning long-term trust and high praise from many clients. Xu has accumulated rich theoretical knowledge and practical experience.

While working for a large-scale papermaking company in Japan, Xu worked on the largest Japanese investment project into China with an amount of USD 2 billion. Her legal services covered including papermaking and wood pulp production lines and self-use terminal construction, equipment import & installation, technology import, land undergoing completion inspections, planning, environmental protection, production safety, customs, foreign exchange, the public disclosure and completion inspection of the Ministry of Environmental Protection’ environmental impact assessment (EIA), environmental emissions supervision, shoreline use rights, sea area use rights, dispute solutions for offshore pipeline groups, technical negotiations on water use projects, and responding to investigations into technical costs at customs. A microfinance company in Japan: Xu obtained the license of approval from the Financial Office for the first foreign-owned microfinance company to be set up in Shanghai. Solutions for group cases such as liquidation, layoffs and strikes of multiple foreign-owned enterprises in Shanghai, Suzhou, and Guangdong. Carried out legal services on smuggling, customs price appraisal, customs classification, customs penalties, and dispute solutions for a host of Japanese manufacturing, commercial, and trade enterprises. Japanese financial leasing companies: license approval and medical device import approval of medical device financing leasing and auto financing leasing. An electric appliance company in Japan: Xu was legal representative for the technology royalty arbitration case. A publishing group in Japan: Xu provided solutions for the joint venture project negotiation with Tencent and customs copyright royalties. A chemical company in Japan: technical negotiation with several OEM factories, and technical negotiations with the Marine Science Research Project of the Academy of Social Sciences. A large-scale commercial company in Japan: solutions for the subsidiary's joint venture contract negotiation, equity transfer negotiation and customs issues. A fiber company in Japan: solutions for the industrial and commercial inspection of imported goods logos. A ham company in Japan: negotiated with the Yurun joint venture project and obtained a license for the establishment of a biological product company. An advertising company in Japan: representative office, advertising company, branch establishment, equity transfer negotiation, state-owned equity transfer bidding, auction and listing.
