In 1997, Xu was awarded the title of Senior Lawyer (Level 2) after undergoing training from the Ministry of Justice. The title was appraisal by Shanghai Judicial Bureau. Since 2015, Xu has served as a senior consultant for SG & CO PRC LAWYERS.

Xu has been engaged in the legal profession for more than 30 years. From 1985 to 1995: director of the International Liaison Division of Shanghai Xinhua Law Firm; from 1995 to 2010: director and chief partner of Shanghai Guolian Law Firm; from 2010 to now: original venture senior partner and partner of SG & CO PRC LAWYERS.

Xu has been working as a lawyer for more than 30 years and has extensive experience handling cases and is practiced in representing non-litigation projects. Xu is adept at increasing foreign investment into China, international trade, and shipping & maritime legal affairs. Xu has provided legal services on the establishment and operations management for 100-plus foreign-funded enterprises. Xu has served as the perennial legal consultant for world-famous shipping companies for over 25 consecutive years. His professional knowledge and serious service attitude have been well received by clients.

Member of the Shanghai Law Society, Shanghai Investment Association, Maritime Law Society and Chinese Law Society; guest lawyer of Radio Program "Oriental Lawyer" of Shanghai People's Broadcasting Station. Xu is the author of titles such as Lawyer Intervention Time and Procedure for Foreign Investment Projects, Sino-Foreign Joint Venture and Cooperative Enterprises, Chinese Lawyer Employment after Entering WTO (Co-author), published in the Shanghai Lawyer, Shanghai Education Magazine and Shanghai Jiaotong University Press, respectively.
